Laura Patlan

Hi! My name is Laura Patlan (she/her/ella), and I am the Co-Director of Client Services at The Blue Bench. The Blue Bench is Metro Denver’s only comprehensive sexual assault support and prevention education center. In my role, I oversee The Blue Bench’s Advocacy team and collaborate with my fellow co-directors to support and continually improve our direct services to survivors.

I came into this work 9 years ago when I started volunteering at a local domestic violence shelter in my hometown. Since then, I have worked directly with survivors of both domestic violence and sexual assault to offer them support and advocacy through their healing journey. It was also through this work that I became passionate about addressing and ending cycles of harm through individual and community healing and accountability.
